Turnaround Times for Translation Services

Obligation free quotations will be provided within 24-48 hours of your request. Our standard turnaround is 5-7 working days, making ONCALL one of the quickest and most efficient translation agencies around.

Standard turnaround times for translation services are:

• Single language
  5 working days from receipt to the final product being delivered to our client (anything received after 2pm may be considered received the next working day for this purpose).
• Multilingual standard text
  5-7 working days from receipt to client
• Multilingual complex text
  5-7 days or longer, depending on requirements of the task.

Independent editing and/or checking may take additional time, if requested.

The time required for typesetting depends on the complexity of the task and can take anything from 1 to 15 working days. This includes the time translators spend reviewing proofs to ensure accuracy. For larger jobs, the client will be provided with proofs for final sign off. After the signoff the final document will be provided electronically to the client or their printer.

We can also assist our clients with the preparation of the material that is to be translated. This service comes with a small fee but it saves clients time and money in the long run. This will achieve greater end results as the text can be written in a format that is user-friendly to the client.

Some tips for improving texts intended for translation are:

• use the active voice
• avoid the use of slang
• avoid the use of continuous verbs (i.e. verbs ending in ‘ing’)
• avoid the use of culturally inappropriate language
• avoid grammatically intricate sentences
• avoid too many sentences in a paragraph

To minimise the cost and time of translation, it is important for a text to be finalised and signed off before translation. Likewise a contact person with a thorough understanding of the text and the intended audience should be made available, so that any queries can be clarified.
